Ron Samuelson
CEOCEO | Third Generation Owner
Ron Samuelson has spent more than 32 years at the center of the diamond and luxury watch industries. As the third-generation owner of Samuelson’s Diamonds, Ron has built a reputation for his disciplined approach to buying, evaluating, and market analysis.
While he earned his B.A. from Emory University and completed the GIA Diamond Essentials program, Ron’s most valuable expertise was “learned in the trenches.” Since stepping into a leadership role in 1994, he has personally evaluated thousands of stones, helping clients navigate shifting market conditions and complex grading standards with transparency.
Under his direction, the business celebrated its 100th anniversary in 2022—a milestone that earned the company recognition from WMAR-2’s Midday Maryland as a premier family-owned business. To mark a century in Baltimore, Ron spearheaded the Samuelson’s Centennial Grant, awarding $10,000 to a local family-owned business to help support the next generation of regional entrepreneurs.
Ron is a versatile specialist, frequently consulted for his knowledge in estate jewelry, luxury watches, and precious metals. He is widely known for his mission to “lift the veil of secrecy” from the diamond industry, using the Samuelson’s blog to educate consumers on how diamonds are valued as both assets and heirlooms. This ability to blend traditional jewelry values with a forward-thinking digital strategy has helped Samuelson’s grow from a local landmark to a nationally recognized name.
Ron’s perspective has earned features in The Wall Street Journal, The Baltimore Sun, and Baltimore Magazine’s 40 Under 40. He is a frequent voice on industry trends, grading standards, and the evolution of the global jewelry market.
Beyond the showroom, Ron serves on the Board of Directors for The Dr. Michael Feinglass Cancer Foundation. He lives in Maryland with his wife and two children, and is a staple in the local music scene, playing classic blues and rock on his Fender Stratocaster and Paul Reed Smith guitars.
