Allan Rosen serves as the Head Buyer for Samuelson’s Diamonds, leading the company’s expansion into Northern Virginia. With a career spanning more than 35 years, Allan is one of the most seasoned diamond buyers in the Mid-Atlantic, known for his “direct-from-the-source” knowledge and an uncompromising eye for stone quality.
A native of Philadelphia, Allan spent three decades at the heart of the industry on the city’s historic Jewelers’ Row. From 1989 to 2019, he owned and operated a premier jewelry purchasing firm, where he specialized in high-volume diamond grading, estate liquidations, and the evaluation of investment-grade stones.
In 2019, CEO Ron Samuelson tapped Allan to spearhead the opening of Samuelson’s Tysons Corner location. As the lead evaluator for this office, Allan uses his decades of experience on “The Row” to provide Northern Virginia clients with a level of expertise rarely found outside of major diamond districts. Whether he is assessing a 5-carat solitaire or a complex estate collection, his goal is to provide a transparent, market-accurate evaluation that empowers the client.
Allan holds a degree in Business Administration from Widener University and completed his formal diamond training with the Gemological Institute of America (GIA). On the Samuelson’s blog, Allan draws on his 35-year archive of “trade secrets” to help readers understand the true mechanics of diamond pricing, resale value, and how to navigate the buying process with confidence.
When he isn’t at the Tysons Corner showroom, Allan is likely found on the ski slopes, the golf course, or enjoying time with his family.
