Steve Samuelson represents the heart and history of Samuelson’s Diamonds. His career in the jewelry trade began in 1962, apprenticing alongside his father and company founder, Milton Samuelson. Over the course of six decades, Steve transformed the business from a niche jewelry and antique buyer into one of the most respected family-owned jewelry institutions in the Mid-Atlantic.
As a Graduate Gemologist (G.G.) through the Gemological Institute of America (GIA), Steve possesses an “encyclopedic” eye for detail. He is a premier specialist in vintage timepieces and estate jewelry, with a rare ability to identify the historical significance and craftsmanship of pieces that predating the modern era. Under his leadership, Samuelson’s earned a reputation for technical precision and “Old World” integrity—values that remain the cornerstone of the brand today.
Beyond the showroom, Steve’s commitment to Baltimore is reflected in his extensive history of civic leadership. He has served as President of the Maryland Food Bank, Past President of the Board of Trustees of the Beth Tfiloh Community School, and President of the Market Center Merchants Association. His leadership in these organizations mirrors the transparency and service he has provided to jewelry clients for over 60 years.

When he isn’t consulting on significant estate acquisitions, Steve enjoys gardening and spending time with his six grandchildren.
