Selling Your Valuables By Mail

Selling Your Valuables By Mail

Whether you’re selling a watch handed down by your grandfather or an engagement ring, we understand that choosing to sell your item is a personal experience. And with a pandemic still underway, your safety is more important than ever. That’s why Samuelson’s offers safe, secure & stress-free shipping services so you can sell your valuables by mail.

What we buy

Diamonds, gold, silver flatware and sets, coins, bullions, estate jewelry, family heirlooms, luxury watches, and more! Basically, if it’s a fine good, we buy it. We’ve been around since 1922 and are a family-owned and operated team of certified diamond buyers, jewelers, and gemologists. We love learning the history behind estate pieces and are equally happy to help valuables find their new homes.

How to prepare your valuables for shipping

The very first step is to get in touch with us! Our team is comprised of experts who can help gauge the value of your diamonds, jewels, or other valuables. If you can share the history, provenance, original packaging, or any certifications that makes it much easier for us to determine a fair value for your item.

Shipping

We believe selling your diamonds, jewelry, and other valuables by mail should be simple, secure, and risk-free. Once we’ve made arrangements to sell your item(s) by mail, we will send you a pre-paid and fully insured overnight delivery shipping label with instructions that include how to pack your item. All of our items sent by mail are shipped to a secure evaluation facility located in Tysons Corner, Virginia.

Insurance

We base our insured value of the item on the current market rates for gold, silver, platinum, diamonds, and other materials. This is where having documentation about your diamonds, jewels, precious metals, and more come in – it makes it easier for us to identify the insurance price point to ensure your valuables are fully covered.

Evaluation

Once we have received your items at our secure evaluation facility, our experienced and trusted evaluators will inspect and value your item within 48 hours. Evaluations are based on real-time market resale data, and the condition of your item, among other factors.

Offer

Our process of making an offer is the same when it’s received by mail or during an in-store evaluation appointment. After a thorough evaluation, we will make a competitive offer. If you like it, great! We’ll pay you immediately. If you don’t, that’s okay too. We’ll ship your items back to you, free of charge. All of our offers are based on market value after a thorough and comprehensive evaluation.

We understand that selling any valuable is a big decision. Regardless of the reason why you’re selling – for space, financial reasons, or sentimental reasons, this process ultimately takes place on your timeline. We want you to be comfortable with your decision and are happy to answer all your questions to make sure you have all the answers you need.

If you’re ready to start the process of selling your valuable by mail, get in touch with us so we can get your shipping kit ready to roll!
