Kyle is a good friend of our marketing manager, Dianne and she’d been hinting at him for a while to come down to Samuelson’s Diamonds and check out our selection since he’d been on the hunt for that perfect ring for his girlfriend, Stacie. In April, Kyle entered our brO’s ticket giveaway and won so when he stopped into the store to pick up his tickets he thought he’d take the time to check out our selection. Within 20 minutes, Kyle had found the perfect antique style ring for Stacie … but now came the hard part, proposing!
Kyle wasn’t entirely sure how he was going to propose until a week before he did. He knew he wanted to do something fairly unique and incorporate an element into the proposal that helped sum them up as a couple. Both Kyle and Stacie love running together and recently discovered a new route that takes them down a quiet path near a stream. There is an area surrounded by trees right next to the stream with a bench that Kyle decided would be a great spot to propose.
The day of the run was filled with obstacles. Stacie didn’t really want to run and had other ideas for them on that Friday. Luckily he convinced her to just go for a short run. As they got closer, she felt a twinge in her leg and thought she may have pulled something. That would’ve ended the plan right there. But she soldiered on!
Once they got to the spot, Kyle told Stacie he thought he had a rock in his shoe and needed to pull over to get it out. They walked over to the bench and he squatted down to untie his shoe. Stacie is paying him no mind as he reach into his pocket and grabbed the ring. Kyle quickly moved to one knee, held the ring out and Stacie still had no idea what was happening. He says “Stacie” and she looks at him, then the ring, then him, then just shouts “NOOO…” and starts to laugh and cry. Kyle thinks he knew she meant to say something like “No way!!”, but it was still a bit concerning to hear “No” even before he had said a word.
Kyle told Stacie he loved her and asked her to marry him. She couldn’t really get the words out but eventually said “YES!”. Needless to say, they walked to rest of the way home and she couldn’t stop staring at the ring. She loves it!
Kyle and Stacie are still soaking in their engagement but knowing how excited Stacie is to Marry Kyle we’re sure they’ll be starting their wedding planning soon. Congrats to you both from everyone here at Samuelson’s Diamonds!
