This is a phrase was uttered dozens of times by the mouths of Baltimore’s most fabulous fashion and lifestyle influencers. On September 17, we hosted a special 1-year anniversary party for 50 guests to get a bling tour of our space at Quarry Lake. Throughout the night, the VIPs noshed on jumbo lump crabcakes, vegetable samosas and chocolate dipped strawberries with real gold dusting, sipped Instaworthy craft cocktails like the Pink Diamond Cranberry Drop and Canary Pineapple Cocktail, and captured striking poses flashing every piece of jewelry they tried on.
From our 23 ct. Harry Winston diamond ring, valued at $375,000, to our 24 ct. diamond necklace, to Superbowl and World Series rings, and loads of engagement and wedding bands, Rolex watches, and Tiffany bracelets…they couldn’t get enough. One woman said breathlessly, “I didn’t realize diamonds could make me feel like this. I’m feeling something!”
We had so much fun welcoming back those who had seen us before—whether they had bought their engagement ring or wedding bands with us or sold an estate piece to us, it was great to reconnect. And we LOVED meeting new friends — many of the people who attended the event love to shop secondhand fashion – they love it for the sustainability, they love it for the economics, they love it for the story, the love it for the uniqueness. They were excited to learn what it meant to shop estate and pre-owned luxury jewelry. Ron explained that buying a “recycled diamond” is kindest to the earth because the only mining you’re doing is mining what has already been cultivated. To put it another way: The American jewelry box is the greatest diamond “mine” on the planet.
Our new friends also loved learning about the Samuelson family story, and the genesis of our nearly 100-year old family business. We’re in Baltimore after all, and Baltimoreans love nothing more than to support local. It’s part of our DNA, hon. Charm City is charming because of the people and places and all the wonderful businesses that make us unique. It’s why people love this town so much.
Throughout the night, our Master Jeweler Eric spent time inspecting and cleaning our guests’ own jewelry – we couldn’t have anyone leaving without their sparkle!
Amidst the mixing, mingling, and trying on, the influencers posted pictures and videos to their Instagram stories using #SamuelsonsRocks as the party hashtag. At 7 p.m., Allie, our Director of Estate Jewelry, chose her favorite image from the night…Kate Harley @katebudzinski was the winner and took home, our prize… an 18k white gold pave diamond necklace with ½ carats of diamonds valued at $995!
There were cheers of joy and disbelief that we had given away such a valuable piece of jewelry but we felt so much gratitude to those who came to celebrate our anniversary, for us, it was more than appropriate.
BUT the evening didn’t end then! Our guests continued to eat and drink, try on as many more things as they could—and of course, snap and share more pix. Slowly, after the “unofficial” ending, our last party guest left. We were on a high! The energy in our Quarry Lake suite had been palpable all night. It was an incredible celebration, and one we won’t forget anytime soon. Check out our story highlights on Instagram or our Facebook photo album to see more. Thanks to all of our guests for supporting Samuelson’s Diamonds & Estate Buyers.
