Celebrity Engagements – September 2012

Sep 25, 2012

Michelle Kwan EngagedThe countless number of celebrity engagements this past summer ignited gossip about their giant sparklers! Many claim that round and princess cut diamonds set in platinum or white gold are the most popular engagement ring styles of 2012. However, in the celebrity world size and uniqueness appear as the most important elements to consider when purchasing an engagement ring.  Throughout the summer many celebrities rings from Miley Cyrus’s 3.5 cushion cut diamond set in yellow gold to Kim Kardashion’s 20.5 carat set in platinum demonstrate to reflect their own style and originality.

Kate Bosworth Engagment RingThis September, newly engaged celebrities are seen flaunting different engagement rings, all beautiful in their own way. According to People Magazine, Clay Pell, who recently proposed to U.S. figure skater Michelle Kwan, purchased a large oval shape diamond simply because he felt it looked best of her long, thin fingers.  While some celebrities focused on the shape of the center stone, others focused solely on size. Elisha Cuthbert, actress from “Love Actually” and “Old School” was recently engaged to professional NHL player Dion Phaneuf. Although details about the diamond have yet to be released, friends of the happily engaged couple have mentioned how georgeous and huge the diamond is!

Blake Lively Engagement RingActress Kate Bosworth and Michael Polish are yet another couple newly engaged. Kate recently tweeted a photo of herself taken by her fiancé wearing her square cut diamond engagement ring. The diamond ring certainly does not appear as large as Elisha’s, but the ring’s simplicity fits Kate’s classy and elegant persona perfectly. Last but not least, Blake Lively, secretly married to Ryan Reynolds on September 9th, finally revealed her beautiful engagement ring. Blake’s ring consists of a large light pink oval diamond set in a custom rose gold setting on a thin band of diamonds.
